Born in Torquay, England, in 1942, Roger Harvey immigrated to the United States in 1956 where he attended Chicago's American Academy of Art and the School of the Art Institute.
Roger started out as a graphic designer in 1965, eventually building his own Chicago studio, RHI Design. Working with both ad agencies and direct corporate clients, he designed mail campaigns, packaging, in-store displays and corporate logos. He has won numerous graphic awards and has been published extensively throughout his career.
Mr. Harvey was a member of the Graphic Artist Guild and NARAS (National Association of Recording Arts & Sciences). He has designed more than 50 record albums and compact disk covers, and was on the Chicago Chapter's jury that votes for Grammy Awards in the category of Album Graphics.
He has given workshops, lectured, and has shown his work at such prestigious institutions as Louisiana Tech, Ruston, Louisiana, The Art institute of Chicago's New Horizon Show, The Other Side of the Lake's Juried Art Exhibit, and had a one-man show at the Local Color Gallery in 1997. He also exhibited at The Other Side of the Lake Gallery located in Union Pier, Michigan, in 1998 and 1999. He had a one-man show during Art Attack in Three Oaks, Michigan, at the Springdale Gallery in 2001. Joined and exhibited at the artists' cooperative GAIA Gallery in 2002. He operated his own gallery in New Buffalo Michigan from 2008 to 2016. Permanently exhibited in Timothy’s Restaurant in New Buffalo Michigan from 2016 to 2019.
